What is power yoga?

Great question. We teach Power Vinyasa (fancy yoga word for “linking movement with breath”) in a heated 90 degree room. There are lots of styles out there, but we share power yoga because it’s sweaty, adaptable, life-changing and FUN!

I don't have a mat or towel or anything!

No worries! We rent/sell everything you need. We also have water and coconut water for sale in studio, as well as a full boutique in case you forget a bra or shorts. (It happens a lot.)

What's the parking situation?

Our King St./Downtown studio has side street and metered parking. There's also a brand new parking garage across the street from the downtown studio behind the Hyatt Hotel! Our Mt. Pleasant studio has a big parking lot in the Whole Foods Shopping Center.

How hot are the classes?

Our Power 75, Power 60, and Core 60 classes are heated at 90 degrees. Deep Stretch and workshops are taught at about 80 degrees. The heat will relax your muscles and allow you to take your practice to another level. Sweating is good for you!

Can beginners attend classes?

Heck yes! Power 75, Power 60, and Core 60 are open to all levels and modifications will be given as needed. We do recommend that raw beginners show up early to talk to the teacher about form and alignment. But, like we said, you’re welcome to all of our classes.

What should I bring to class?

Bring your mat, a towel and water. We also recommend a yogitoes (or any kind of towel to keep you from slipping on your yoga mat). We do have all of these items for sale or rent should you need them. ($1 for a sweat towel, $2 for mats, $4 for Yogitoes, $2 for water).

All personal items can be left safely in cubbies outside the room, along with your shoes and cellphones. And gum. We lock the front doors during class to keep your belongings safe!

Can I shower?

Sure can. Our downtown studio has two showers equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body wash as well as towels. Our Mt. Pleasant studio does not have showers, unfortunately.

How can I take my practice to the next level?

We're so glad you asked! The short answer: Keep coming. We recommend at least 2-3 days a week consistently, or even 4-5 days a week if you really want to see some big results. Our teachers are always available before or after class if you have questions, and we have workshops isolating individual skills of the practice to help you with your form and alignment.
